Meet me in St. Louie . . . Louie

I visited a company named SEI in St. Louis (4/4/01).  We got finished with business a day earlier than expected but I still had an opportunity to go in town and take this series of pictures of the arch along the Mississippi River.  The shots with the river in the foreground were taken from the East St. Louis, IL side of the river.  Got river mud on my shoes to prove it. :-)

Shot of the St. Louis Arch late in the afternoon with the sun to my back.  This is right in downtown St. Louis and the Mississippi River is down the river bank just behind the arch in this picture.

This picture was shot about 30 minutes after the one above.  But, this is from the East St. Louis side of the Mississippi River.  This is where the mud on my shoes came from.  LOL.

This was about 10 minutes after sunset.  The sky was not really pretty this day, so I stopped it down to make the picture darker than it should be in order to get at least some of the color I saw in the sky here in this picture.

This is a more "normal" exposure taken about 5 minutes after the picture above.  The color was still there but the exposure was set more to capture the lights in the buildings and the reflection and movement of the water.

This is my "Night" picture.  It was taken about an hour after the picture just above.  I was crazy to be sitting there in my rental car along the river.  I did not have a good feeling about safety there.  But, it's a nice picture.  LOL.
