San Francisco
I stayed in San Francisco at the Radisson Miyako Hotel . . . right in the heart of Japantown. Some of these pictures were taken while staying there, but most were taken after I had moved down to Palo Alto. I had the weekend relatively free of business matters and took advantage of the situation. These are pictures I took in San Francisco or of San Francisco.

My room at the Miyako. Not too large, but it had a very definite Japanese flavor to it . . . including the sliding screen at the balcony.

View from the balcony of my room. I was on the 8th floor. Neat hills in San Francisco. Some are really steep too.

Families and groups on outings in Golden Gate Park.

Partway up Hyde Street. See the cable car starting the climb up Hyde St. Also a reasonably good view of Alcatraz Island (where the prison was).

Hurry up lady . . . you've got to run to catch that cable car.

It's stopping. I think you'll make it now.

So, what is that string of lights in the night (just before sunrise)?

You got it. It's the Golden Gate Bridge. A little foggy this morning, but you take what you get. Maybe the next time I'll have a clear morning and get a good sunrise picture.

I took this through the front windshield as I drove across the Golden Gate Bridge. Not a very safe thing to do. But the traffic this early on a Saturday morning was next to nothing. I had my GPS receiver (yellow thing reflecting in the windshield) and laptop with me. No way to get lost. LOL.
